Five Axis Plasma Cutting for Mesa Components
Heavy plate cut, beveled and machined in one setup in Phoenix, for Mesa equipment frames, base plates and connection components.
Plate Work for Mesa Fabrications
Mesa orders are usually plate that has to do a job: base plates with a bolt pattern, connection plates with a weld prep, gussets, skid members and machine mounting parts. The table angles the torch through the cut for a contour bevel, then drills, taps, counterbores or mills the holes in the same program, so the part does not move to a second machine.
Plate from 1/8 in to 4 in runs here, on a 6 ft x 12 ft cut area. Sheet that needs finer detail stays on the fiber laser, and plate too large for the laser is routed to this table instead.

- Plate 1/8 in to 4 in (3.2 mm to 101.6 mm), with edges started over the pierce limit
- Cut area 6 ft x 12 ft (1.83 m x 3.66 m)
- Contour bevels on five axes for weld preparation
- Carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum plate
Heavy plate finished in one setup
A standard plasma table cuts a flat profile and leaves the bevel and the holes for someone else. The five axis table angles the torch through the cut for a contour bevel, then drills, taps, counterbores or mills in the same setup, so the part is finished when it comes off the table.

Fewer setups means fewer chances for a part to move between machines.

The plate we cut
Structural and equipment plate grades run on this table, including work the laser cannot take.
- Carbon steel plate
- Stainless steel plate
- Aluminum plate
- Plate 1/8 in to 4 in (3.2 mm to 101.6 mm)
- Plate too thick or too large for the 6 kW laser
- Weld-preparation bevels in the cut program
Grade and thickness are confirmed at quote, because the pierce and the edge start change with the material.

Quoting plate work for Mesa
Send the plate drawings with hole, thread and bevel details, the material and thickness, the quantity and the date you need the parts. Where a weld procedure governs the bevel, include it so the edge preparation is cut to that requirement rather than assumed.
Plate is cut in Phoenix and delivered to Mesa as a set. Heavier parts are handled with lifting equipment on delivery, and freight is quoted with the order.
Plate is cut in Phoenix, Arizona and delivered to Mesa as a complete set. Welded assemblies can be built from the same release through welding and assembly.
