Moon Tower: Architectural Metal at Scale

Moon Tower: Architectural Metal at Scale
By KorFab Team Reviewed by KorFab Leadership Published 2024-03-10

At the Moon Tower, KorFab fabricated and installed custom laser-cut steel privacy screens for a residential balcony terrace — delivering architectural metalwork that balances privacy, pattern, and clean modern lines at scale.

The Moon Tower is a modern residential high-rise where outdoor terrace space is part of the living experience. The project called for custom architectural metal privacy screens that could deliver real visual separation without closing the balcony off from its surroundings — a balance of openness, pattern, and privacy at scale.

KorFab designed and fabricated a series of tall, vertically mounted laser-cut steel panels featuring a geometric pattern of thin diagonal cutouts. Finished in a dark charcoal powder coat, the screens read as a deliberate architectural feature rather than a utilitarian add-on.

The Screens

Each panel was precision-cut on our 6KW Bodor fiber laser and formed to consistent dimensions so the installed run reads as a continuous, intentional feature. The diagonal-slit pattern was tuned to balance airflow and sightlines with privacy — open enough to keep the terrace feeling connected to the view, dense enough to screen the space from neighboring balconies.

Fabrication at Scale

Delivering architectural metal at scale means more than cutting panels. It means repeatable accuracy across every piece, a finish that holds up outdoors, and an installation that lands true to the design intent. The Moon Tower screens were cut, formed, powder-coated, and delivered ready to mount — with KorFab coordinating the install so the finished run aligned cleanly along the terrace.

The Result

The completed terrace pairs the privacy screens with lounge seating and a glass railing, creating an outdoor room that feels considered and complete. The screens do exactly what they were designed to do: frame the space, screen it from view, and add a layer of architectural detail that belongs to the building rather than fighting it.
